Natural Stone

Natural stone for façades is one of the most elegant and durable solutions for cladding external and internal walls. Its extraordinary resistance to the elements and its organic beauty make this material the preferred choice for enhancing any architectural project.

Advantages of using stone cladding on external walls

Opting for mineral-based materials guarantees unrivalled protection against damp, sudden changes in temperature and sunlight. This technical quality prevents the degradation of vertical surfaces, keeping the texture and colour of the cladding intact without the need for constant maintenance.

Furthermore, the thermal insulation properties of stone contribute significantly to improving the building’s energy efficiency. By acting as a natural barrier against the cold and extreme heat, it helps maintain an optimal indoor climate all year round, reducing energy consumption for heating and cooling.

A variety of formats and finishes in slabs, blocks and tiles

There is a wide range of formats designed to suit different aesthetic concepts. From irregular slabs with a rustic feel to pre-assembled tiles and geometrically cut, bevelled blocks, each option provides a distinctive texture that transforms traditional façades into avant-garde surfaces full of character.

Furthermore, the range of colours extends from warm beige and cream tones to contemporary greys and dark shades. The combination of mineral mosaics and rough-textured blocks creates dynamic contrasts of light and shadow that enhance the architecture of plinths, columns, perimeter walls and terraces.

Notable applications of stone in architecture and interior design

• Perimeter plinths and main façades to provide protection against water and thermal shock.
• Accent walls in living rooms and fireplaces to bring warmth and a rustic feel to interiors.
• Wall cladding in gardens, barbecue areas and around swimming pools.
• Creation of footpaths and ornamental features in courtyards or on terraces.

Recommendations for the installation and maintenance of mineral stone

To ensure a perfect bond and prolong the service life of the cladding, it is essential to use flexible, high-adhesion tile adhesives specifically designed for outdoor use. Cleaning the substrate beforehand and observing the technical joint specifications prevents detachment or structural movement caused by seasonal changes.

The aftercare of these natural cladding materials is remarkably simple. Periodic cleaning with a pressure washer or the application of breathable water-repellent treatments is sufficient to prevent the build-up of moss or environmental grime, preserving the stone’s original splendour for decades.
