Tile
Pool mosaics are small decorative mosaics, with high resistance properties and great design possibilities: a very suitable material for forming patterns and combining colours. Due to their inalterability, easy cleaning and installation, they are the ideal decorative coating for covering swimming pools, facades, columns, interiors, bathrooms, etc. With the use of glass and colour, more decorative and evocative solutions are achieved.
The product is presented in 315 x 315 mm plates for the paper and mesh format and in 317 x 396 mm for the silicone dot format.
The pieces are glued on gummed paper, on fiberglass and polyester in mesh format and with silicone dots.

The use of mosaic began more than 2000 years ago, with the intention of creating environments and images that would last over time. Unalterable and indestructible, starting from glass after complex manufacturing processes, a material of the highest quality is achieved, which successfully defies time and erosion.
The vitreous coating does not lose its gloss or color, always maintaining a good appearance, while other coatings tend to acquire a dull and matte appearance over time.
The mosaic tile is resistant to chemicals, both acid and alkaline, which facilitates cleaning.
The coefficient of thermal expansion of the gressite is minimal, ensuring uniformity in the joints.
It is easy to apply, which provides a better work finish.
What tile to choose for the pool
There are several formats of pool tile :
Tile on paper: The tiles of the tile are glued on a piece of paper, which once the cement has set, is removed and cleaned. This model of pool tile is the most economical
Mesh tile: Mosaic mesh is a support that is placed behind the tile and is similar to a spider's web. It holds the tile sheet together and nothing needs to be removed once the glue cement has set.
Mosaic tile in silicone dots: This support makes each tile of the tile attached to the one next to it thanks to a silicone dot. Like mesh tile, nothing needs to be removed once it has been placed.
Frequently asked questions
- Prepare the surface on which you are going to lay the mosaic tiles, cleaning it of dust and dirt and checking that it is not damp.
- Obtain the special adhesive for glass materials, following the manufacturer’s instructions. Not just any adhesive will do.
- Spread the layer of adhesive with a notched trowel.
- Place the mosaic tiles carefully and in alignment.
- Use a rubber float to tap the tiles and secure them properly to the adhesive layer.
- Clean off any excess adhesive.
- Respect the drying times before filling the gaps between the tiles with grout.
- Clean off any excess grout.
- Once the drying time recommended by the manufacturer has passed, it’s time to enjoy your pool!
Generally, mosaic tile is sold in boxes of 2 square metres. Each mosaic sheet is about 32 cm wide and long and is made up of tesserae joined together.
This joining can be done in different ways:
-
Silicone dot joining: The tesserae are connected by small dots of silicone, which are embedded in the adhesive once the sheets are fixed.
-
Mesh joining: A mesh connects the tesserae from the back, and this mesh is covered by the adhesive once installed.
-
Paper joining: The tesserae are glued on the top to a piece of paper, which can be easily removed after the sheet is fixed, leaving the mosaic visible.
No. It shouldn’t be the same. The mortar used for grouting is continuously exposed to water and the chemicals dissolved in it, as well as to sunlight, making it the mortar that suffers the most over time.
There are specific mortars for grouting, so using a basic adhesive cement for grouting is not recommended. It looks fine at first, but doesn’t last long.
We recommend using a grout-specific adhesive. The more epoxy resin it contains, the longer it will maintain its properties.
Yes. There are products on the market suitable for this purpose. Currently, we recommend Fischer MS Special Pool adhesive, which seals, bonds, and fills in both chlorinated and saltwater pools, directly underwater.
Non-slip mosaic is usually only used in access or exit areas of the pool, such as stairs and external sunbathing zones very close to the exit. For the rest of the pool, floor and walls, non-slip mosaic is typically used.
Naturally, in shower areas, non-slip mosaic should be used.
