What type of pool edge are you looking for?
The edge of the pool is a fundamental element to ensure safety, comfort and style in your pool. Beyond technical aspects such as resistance, finish and non-slip properties, you can choose between different systems, such as overflow pool edges, traditional pool edges or prefabricated concrete edges.
If you are looking to give it a modern touch, you can opt for imitation stone or imitation wood edges. On the other hand, if you are looking for something more traditional, prefabricated concrete pool edges are your option. And for those who love the most industrial style, the cement-effect edges will fit perfectly into your design.
What type of pool liner do you want?
The coating you choose for your pool is key to achieving a harmonious and striking design. In addition to considering technical aspects, you can explore a wide variety of designs and finishes that suit different styles.
If you are looking for the classic tile wall tile, you have a wide variety of designs and formats, or you can opt for imitation tile porcelain pieces, which combine the technical properties and resistance of porcelain pieces and the traditional finish of mosaic tiles.
If, on the other hand, you prefer a more modern and avant-garde style, a porcelain wall tile is your ideal option. You can play with the shades of the pieces to create effects in the water of your pool that turn it from a tropical paradise, providing a green or turquoise effect to the water, to an oasis of tranquility, achieving a particular tone of clear water known as a white water pool.
What do you want the outside of your pool to look like?
The flooring we choose to frame our pool is essential to create a warm and welcoming outdoor environment. While there are a few technical characteristics to consider, such as resistance, finish and slippage, you can immerse yourself in an interesting search among all the designs and finishes on offer.

Waterproofing for swimming pools
The design you choose for your pool is important, but so is the construction and waterproofing you install to avoid possible water leakage problems. Using a waterproofing sheet and reinforcements for the corners will prevent future problems.

What should I know about pool lining?
Key concepts about grouting that should be known:
- First execute the installation joints with waterproof pastes of type CG2. Epoxy seals allow cleaning with more aggressive elements.
- Apply the product with a rubber trowel, filling diagonally.
- Clean joints before they harden using cement remover. The setting time depends on the manufacturer.
- Finally, make the expansion joints, filling with waterproof elastic pastes such as polyurethanes or polysulfides.
Here we indicate the basic points for swimming pool cladding, from the elements that make up the cladding to the times that must be expected between the different phases of the process. These tips must be taken into account from the beginning of the project in order to meet the indicated times and that the final result is as desired.
What to take into account for the placement of pool lining.
It is important to take into account all the elements involved in the lining of a swimming pool: from the support, the adhesive, the tile to the joints.
All of them must be correctly executed using the appropriate materials and intended for that purpose, the Ceramic Installation Standard that every installer must know clearly specifies it. One of the best materials for cladding is mosaic tile, which is unalterable to the chemical elements of swimming pools and the ideal ceramic material is porcelain stoneware, with a non-slip surface up to at least 1.40 metres deep.
Measures that must be taken into account before proceeding to the placement of pools on the support (pool and beach) are the following:
- To guarantee a good final result we must make sure that it is a stable and resistant support, so we will guarantee the desired final result. The surface to be coated will be executed with a mortar of minimum quality M-80 (compressive strength 80 Kg/cm2) and must reach a surface tensile strength of 1 N/mm2.
- The vessel must be watertight on its own, through the use of mass additives or cementitious primers. It should be noted that ceramics and seals do not guarantee watertightness.
- Expansion joints must be made to relieve the stresses due to thermal changes and to prevent cracks or fissures from occurring.
- Once the vessel has been executed, it is very important to respect the times, at least 28 days must pass for the curing and shrinkage of the concrete.
- A good surface finish is needed: clean, dry, flat and without irregularities. Usually the walls of the pool are mastered.
Apart from considering the general measurements on the substrate, it is also important to consider the advice on other elements such as adhesives and grouting which are explained below.
Key tips to keep in mind about adhesive:
1.- Stakeout:
Starting from two axes perpendicular to each other, you will play with the loose tiles to find the most suitable distribution. The following shall be respected:
- Draw a reference grid every meter.
- The tiles will be laid with a spacing of 6 mm (installation joints)
- Place the crown corner pieces to fix the overflow nivel . Then continue with the rest of the upper edge of the pool.
- Next, execute the interior edges where the different planes meet. First the verticals, then the horizontals.
- Cover the walls from the crown to the bottom, leaving the cuts below. The streets and the grid serve as a reference. Finish with the background.
- Provide expansion joints every 4 m, avoiding surfaces greater than 16 m2 without joints and coinciding with the expansion joints made in the pool.
2.- Placement:
Respect the recommendations for adhesive preparation, time of use and application temperatures.
- Spread the mortar, combing with a 6 to 10 mm notched trowel on cloths smaller than 1 m2 to prevent it from drying out.
- If the tile is also glued, it increases adhesion by more than 30%.
- Move and lightly press the pieces to settle the entire surface.
- Level and remove excess adhesive leaving the joints empty and clean.
It is also important to know key aspects about:
3.- Grouting
There are specific materials for each type of gasket, and the manufacturer's instructions for each product must be followed. We recommend the MorcemColor Plus Flexible
Swimming pools with Rosa Gres.

- Due to its very high resistance to wear, abrasion, chemicals, ice and sudden changes in temperature.
- Because of its durability. Stoneware pools maintain their beauty over time, eliminating costly maintenance works.
- Because the hygiene of a pool is very important. Stoneware tiles do not stain. They are very easy to clean and maintain. They prevent the proliferation of microbial formations.
- For safety. Rosa Gres guarantees a degree of non-slip that allows you to walk smoothly on wet pavement.
- By style. When style is to have a wide range of colors and textures. Style is freedom to choose between two systems: the traditional skimmer system or the innovative overflow system.

Swimming pools with Gresite.
Used for many years, with the guarantee of thousands of installations of all types, both single-family and in public swimming pools, it is the ideal coating par excellence for swimming pools. Mosaic tiles do not lose their shine or color, they maintain their good appearance for a long time, and are resistant to chemicals, both acid and alkaline.
Remember that there are several ranges of mosaic tiles:
- Mosaic tiles in mist colors: the color tone of the tile (the small square that forms the meshes) is not uniform, but has different shades. It is ideal for swimming pools.
- Mosaic tiles in plain colors: the tone of the tile is unique and uniform: Ideal for forming drawings, or borders, or finishes...
- Tile tile with smooth surface (non-slip): in any color, but the surface is smooth. It is used for the lining and floor of the pool, and is not recommended for outings on stairs or slopes with water.
- Non-slip tile: used for the floor in the entrance or exit areas of swimming pools, and for shower trays.
