Parasol bases

A parasol base is the essential support for ensuring the stability and safety of your parasol on terraces, in gardens or on patios. Choosing the right base prevents unexpected tipping caused by gusts of wind and ensures a sheltered and ideal space for relaxation.

How to choose the ideal parasol base for your terrace

When selecting a parasol base, it is crucial to consider the weight of the base and the diameter of the pole. For large or off-centre parasols, heavier structures are required to ensure a firm anchorage to the ground without compromising the mobility of your outdoor furniture.

The materials used in manufacture determine both the durability and the aesthetics of the unit. Bases made from precast cast iron and concrete offer exceptional resistance to solar radiation and constant damp, maintaining their optimal performance without requiring intensive maintenance throughout the year.

Types of parasol bases and mounting brackets

There are various support options designed to adapt to the layout of any outdoor space. From high-density fixed models to fillable options or those with built-in wheels, each system meets specific requirements for repositioning shade according to the sun’s daily path.

To ensure a perfect fit, adjustable pole clamps are essential. These fixing accessories allow the parasol pole to be adapted to the base’s neck, preventing any play and guaranteeing absolute vertical stability against any draught.

Key advantages of fixed outdoor bases

• They guarantee excellent perimeter resistance against strong gusts of wind.
• Compatibility with various pole diameters via reducer sleeves.
• Stainless steel and prefabricated materials offering long-lasting durability in outdoor conditions.
• Ornamental designs that blend seamlessly with stone, timber or ceramic paving.

Installation and safety recommendations for your parasols

For maximum effectiveness, always place the base on a completely flat and level surface. Avoid placing the stand on sloping ground or unstable terrain, as this could destabilise the main structure and compromise the stability of your garden décor.

During periods of extreme wind or prolonged periods of inactivity, it is advisable to fold up the parasol and check the tension of the fastenings. This will extend the lifespan of your parasol bases and protect your outdoor furniture, keeping your terrace looking immaculate.
