Technical and decorative profiles

Incorporating technical and decorative profiles into any renovation project is key to achieving a professional finish, protecting the edges of ceramic tiles and adding a distinctive touch to the interior design. These metal or synthetic components ensure smooth transitions between different materials and floor coverings.

Types and solutions for technical and decorative profiles

The versatility of these accessories ranges from protective corner beads to stair tread trims and separation strips. Each model meets a specific functional need, preventing chipping of ceramic tiles and concealing imperfections in the cuts at the joints.

Notable among the available options are profiles made from anodised aluminium, stainless steel and brass, renowned for their high durability against daily wear and tear. For spaces exposed to constant damp, these materials guarantee optimum resistance to corrosion and common cleaning products.

Furthermore, the variety of finishes allows each piece to be adapted to the project’s aesthetic. You can choose from brushed, high-gloss, matt or lacquered finishes in contemporary colours, ensuring a harmonious and elegant visual integration with your existing tiles, taps or joinery.

Technical applications and installation benefits

From a technical perspective, the correct fitting of transition strips between floor surfaces is essential for accommodating floor expansion. By installing these solutions in expansion joints, you prevent unwanted cracks in the tiles and ensure a smooth transition between adjoining rooms.

The installation process is usually carried out whilst the tiles are being laid, with the perforated fixing flange set into the adhesive bed. This method of mechanical and chemical anchoring provides a firm and durable fix, fully integrated into the wall structure.

Maintenance and selection recommendations

As for the day-to-day care of the metal profiles, only simple maintenance is required to preserve their shine and hygiene. Simply clean the surface periodically using a soft cloth with water and neutral soap, avoiding steel wool or similar abrasives that could scratch the finish.

Before selecting the most suitable profiles for your home, it is advisable to measure the thickness of the ceramic tiles or flooring accurately. Choosing the exact height of the profile ensures a flush finish with the cladding, achieving a flawless and safe finish in every corner of your home.

Key benefits of installing technical and decorative profiles in your renovation projects:

• Effective protection of edges and corners against knocks or chipping.
• A smooth and attractive transition between floor surfaces of different materials and heights.
• A wide range of highly durable materials such as aluminium, stainless steel and brass.
• Decorative finishes in gloss, matt, brushed and a variety of modern shades.
• Seamless and secure installation during the tiling process.
