Rising damp is one of the problems that usually appear on ground floors and basements of homes. This is due to the fact that construction materials absorb water from the ground through the foundation, caused by:

  • Poor drainage and waterproofing.
  • Contact with the phreatic nivel .
  • Rainwater saturation.
  • Breakage of underground water-conducting installations

This humidity rises through the pores of the material, which, when in contact with the ground, function as capillary tubes that absorb moisture, ascending through these pores, to heights that will depend on the size of the capillaries, their structure, the atmospheric pressure and the electrical potential of the wall in front of the water, and can reach up to 1 meter in height.
