Capillary dampness

Treatments for rising damp offer a permanent solution to protect walls on ground floors and in basements exposed to water absorption from the ground. Formulated to penetrate deep into the porous structure of brick, stone or block walls, these products create an impenetrable water-repellent barrier that permanently stops rising damp without compromising the integrity of the structure.

Silorxane injection and anti-damp technology from the SikaMur range

Among the most effective systems in the range is SikaMur InjectoCream-100, a single-component cream based on silanes and siloxanes, designed for direct injection into walls. This formula penetrates rapidly into the pores of the building material, forming a continuous barrier against rising damp. Its creamy consistency facilitates precise horizontal application into mortar joints, ensuring clean, uniform and highly effective application.

As it does not require special pressure pumps or high hydraulic pressures, this chemical injection range minimises project duration and reduces disruption to the home. Its high-purity composition guarantees excellent durability against underground salts and efflorescence, preventing the detachment of wall coverings, flaking paint or the progressive deterioration of interior plasterwork.

Application tools and injection accessories for walls

To achieve a precise and cost-effective seal in every drill hole, the range includes replacement applicator kits and heavy-duty tubular guns. These accessories allow the cream to be injected directly to the bottom of the drill holes made in the wall, optimising the yield of each cartridge or sausage of product. The right equipment ensures that the chemical solution is distributed evenly throughout the entire cross-section of the wall.

The combination of ergonomic tools with chemical injection resins enables waterproofing projects to be carried out with the highest level of operational safety. By precisely controlling the volume injected per linear metre, you can remediate walls affected by the water table or seepage from the subsoil, restoring healthy conditions to the rooms and improving the building’s overall thermal insulation.

Advantages of the specialised treatment against capillary action

• Formation of a durable water-repellent barrier through chemical injection at the base of the wall.
• Clean and simple application without the need for complex or cumbersome pressurisation equipment.
• Effective protection against salt efflorescence, bulging and stains on wall finishes.
• Fully compatible with solid brick walls, cavity walls and stone walls.
• Accessories and applicators designed to maximise the product’s technical performance.

Application criteria and remediation of affected walls

To ensure the success of the treatment, it is essential to drill a series of holes aligned along the base of the wall at the distance and depth specified by the manufacturer. After removing any dust from inside the holes, the water-repellent cream must be injected from the bottom outwards to prevent air pockets. In this way, the active ingredient spreads effectively, creating a continuous waterproof barrier.

Once the injection process is complete, it is advisable to remove any render damaged by salts and allow the wall to dry before applying breathable lime-based mortars. Choosing the right combination of injection products and application tools will enable you to eradicate rising damp at its source. Explore the solutions in this range and restore your walls to a healthy structural condition once and for all.
