Heating

Installing an efficient heating system in the home helps to maintain a comfortable temperature during the colder months, improving comfort and reducing energy consumption. Choosing the right option depends on the space available, the heating requirements and the aesthetic preferences of each home.

Wood-burning and biomass systems for the home

Wood-burning stoves and fireplaces are a traditional option offering high thermal efficiency, providing visual warmth and a cosy atmosphere. Meanwhile, inserts and enclosed fireboxes optimise the combustion of wood, channelling heat cleanly through convection and radiation.

For those seeking maximum convenience, pellet stoves offer programmable and automated ignition with high environmental credentials. Their compact biomass fuel generates constant, intense heat with minimal ash, making daily cleaning and maintenance of the system easier.

Flue gas extraction and installation safety

Ensuring safe flue gas extraction requires the installation of metal flue ducts and pipes made of stainless steel or vitrified material. Furthermore, protecting adjacent walls with thermal insulation materials prevents energy loss, avoids overheating of structures and ensures the correct draught of the installation.

As a concealed alternative, electric underfloor heating provides an even distribution of temperature from the floor, preventing cold spots. Supplementing domestic heating with efficient electric water heaters ensures a rapid, constant supply of domestic hot water, tailored to daily routines.

Calculating the power required for each room

To calculate the power required for a living room or other room, multiply the room’s volume in cubic metres by the insulation coefficient. A large room in a cold area with poor insulation will require greater heating capacity, thus ensuring optimum performance without overworking the system.

• Wood-burning stoves, fireplaces and inserts for cosy, high-efficiency heat.
• Programmable pellet stoves offering high energy efficiency and low ash production.
• High-safety flue pipes in vitrified and stainless steel.
• Electric underfloor heating systems to achieve uniform and discreet temperature control.
