Tungsten carbide drill bits are the easiest and most economical option for drilling holes in tiles.
With tungsten carbide drill bits, the centering drill head (ref. 04992) and a hammerless electric drill, the installer will be able to make the most common and necessary holes in any tile coating without the need for visible cuts.
Tungsten carbide drill bits always work on the unglazed side of the tile and, thanks to the centering bit on the head, no guide is necessary. The drill bits are dry cutting, but it is recommended to slightly wet the tile to reduce the generation of dust during drilling.
The average life of tungsten carbide drill bits is 100 holes and ALWAYS depends on the type of tile, its thickness and the correct cooling and use. The drilling depth of tungsten carbide drill bits is 18mm.
Before drilling again, we must make sure that the drill bit is clean and free of any obstruction or other material. The maximum speed of use for tungsten carbide drill bits is 800 r.p.m.
For a longer life of the drill bit, it is important to respect the appropriate rotational speed and exert moderate pressure during drilling. To obtain the best finishes, it is recommended not to completely drill into the tile and break the witness from the glazed part.
