What is combustion in a fireplace?
It is the chemical reaction that occurs between oxygen and fuel (firewood), with an initial contribution of fire at the beginning of the process.
What is double combustion in a fireplace?
The combustion of a basic chimney emits waste that is expelled by its draught, which ends up in the outside air and produces greater environmental pollution, as well as a great loss of heat and efficiency.
If the waste formed by the first combustion is reused as fuel, performance is improved. This process is known as double combustion, and it is carried out by injecting air into this waste. This second air intake improves the final performance of the chimney, reduces the elements ejected, improves fine performance, and keeps the interior cleaner.
What is the performance of a fireplace?
This value indicates the percentage of heat that is actually used to heat the room where it is located, produced by combustion. That is, of the 100% of the heat produced inside the fireplace, the value that really serves us to heat our home. For example, an efficiency of 71% indicates that 29% of the heat is lost in the chimney's own combustion chamber and 71% is emitted to the outside.

The greater the mechanisms for extracting all its accumulated energy from a fuel, the more efficient our fireplace will be.
What is a chimney deflector?
It is a piece that is placed in the upper part of the combustion chamber. It serves as a screen between the fire and the smoke outlet where the evacuation pipe is fitted.
It has a double function, on the one hand it prevents that when there is a lot of flame it can directly affect the tube, which would cause the smoke to accumulate in the combustion chamber of the stove as the flame is covering the natural outlet of the stove, while reducing the consumption of wood, since the deflector regulates the burning of wood, and it also serves to improve smoke evacuation, since the flame when it hits the baffle, heats it, and this heats the air at the top of the baffle making it weigh less, and causes it to exit through the tube upwards.
