Mosaic tile is a construction material for wall and floor tiles (non-slip) and its name comes from the stoneware tile when it is presented in small formats, approximately from 2×2 cm to 4×4 cm, called tesserae.

These pieces, the tiles, are joined in different ways:

  • With paper. In this case, the paper is glued to the front of the tile, covering the color of the material itself. This paper is removed a few days after installation, simply by wetting it. It is a rigid paper that maintains the separation between the tiles.
  • With fiberglass mesh. This mesh is glued on the back of the tiles and holds them together, although with better rigidity than paper. As this mesh is on the back, you can see how you are placing the pieces and it allows you to adapt them to your liking.
  • With silicone dots. All the tiles are strongly attached to each other with silicone dots on the back, occupying part of the joint.
