VELUX DUO blackout blind

If you’re looking for a comprehensive solution to control the amount of light entering your attic spaces, this range offers the perfect blend of functionality and design. Its system integrates two distinct thermal and lighting concepts into a single structure, allowing you to tailor the level of comfort to your home’s needs at any given time.

Dual light control and colour palette of the VELUX Cortina DUO collection

The range stands out for incorporating, within a single unit, a white translucent pleated blind and a blackout fabric. This versatility allows you to switch seamlessly between gently filtering daylight and complete darkness, designed to ensure a restful night’s sleep or peaceful moments of relaxation.

You can choose from a carefully curated selection of finishes in neutral and on-trend shades, such as white, beige, navy blue or grey in the Standard range, as well as more intense colours such as dark beige, dark brown, orange and black in the Premium range. The entire range bears the renowned Oeko-Tex certified textile quality label, which guarantees that the fabrics are completely free from harmful emissions.

Technical performance and adjustable fit in the DFD VELUX model

Manufactured with smooth-sliding aluminium top and side rails, these components allow you to position the blind freely at exactly the height you require. The blackout blind effectively blocks out external light, improving thermal insulation at the window and optimising energy consumption in loft conversions, bedrooms or study areas with sloping ceilings.

Its manual operation is extremely precise, allowing both fabrics to be moved independently using the bottom bar. Furthermore, a wide range of sizes is available, compatible with the most common VELUX frame codes, ensuring a precise fit that prevents unwanted light leaks into the room.

Key benefits of the combined blackout system

• Two solutions for light blocking and solar control integrated into a single blind.
• Efficient thermal insulation that helps maintain a comfortable indoor temperature.
• Flexible positioning mechanism with no fixed positions, allowing you to adjust the amount of light entering the room.
• Quick and easy installation using the brand’s patented Pick&Click!™ fitting system.
• Durable, high-strength fabrics that retain their original colour over time.

Compatibility and fitting of VELUX combined blinds

Designed for renovating or fitting out attic bedrooms, upper-floor living rooms and home offices, this range blends aesthetically with the window’s internal frame without encroaching on usable space. Its sleek design complements both traditional wooden window frames and white polyurethane finishes without obstructing the view through the frame.

Installation is neat and intuitive, using brackets pre-fitted to the window itself, ensuring a perfect and long-lasting fit. Choose the shade that best matches your interior décor and enjoy total light control with the highest guarantee of quality.
