Its new wide wedge guarantees the same clamping force and the upper part has a thickness gradient at the head to be reused as a tiling wedge or spacer and give a new life to this part.

MINIMUM BASE

The base of Calzo LS Compact is reduced in thickness to facilitate laying under the tiles. With its 1.6mm thickness, you will not need to separate the tile from the glue to insert the shim.

HEAD SPACER

Peygran converts the top of the shim into a reusable piece once its initial leveling function has been completed. You can use the head as a spacer wedge for joints, with a thickness between 0.7 and 3 mm.

WIDE, ANGLED WEDGE

The clamping force is distributed from the inside to the outside, where the shim resists better and provides a much better grip. Thanks to this you will enjoy an impeccable leveling.

REINFORCED SIDEWALLS

The reinforced sides of the new LS Compact wedge, together with its angled design, help to distribute the force evenly. Thanks to this, the clamping of the wedge can be firmer.

With the leveling system for floor and wall coverings from Peygran, we can avoid the well-known "steps" (protrusions or eyebrows). This type of defects that sometimes are attributed to the quality of the ceramic, are usually a consequence, or of an irregular setting; or of very heavy, thin or complex pieces to install. With the leveling system, we ensure that the pieces are fastened together, preventing them from moving during setting. In addition, we will save time in the installation and therefore, money, since we will not have to be so much pending of those unpleasant flaws that are produced after installing the tiles after the setting of the cement glue. In addition it will facilitate the installation of complex, heavy or thin pieces. Giving as a result a quality work.

1. In the first place, it is necessary to consider that the support must have a good planimetry. This is essential in large formats.
2. First we must adjust the tongs on the scale, according to the thickness of the ceramic.
3. Double gluing is recommended. Spread the cement glue and place a piece. Then, we will introduce the shims or bases, and we will continue placing the adjacent tiles.
4. Subsequently, place the wedges in the shim by hand.
5. Afterwards, tighten the wedges with the pliers to make the pieces flush. Once the tiles are flush, it is advisable to lightly tap the ceramic with the rubber mallet to release tension.
6. Let it set for the time recommended by the manufacturer of the cement glue.
7. Once set, we will eliminate the shims or bases. To do this, hit the shim with the mallet or the foot, in the direction of the joint. Do not strike the shims.
8. Finally, recover the shims and proceed to grout.

Use this shim according to the thickness of the tile:

• For tiles with thickness between 3 and 5 mm it should be used together with the supplement, so that the wedge performs the pressure function correctly
• For tiles between 6 and 15 mm thick, the shim can be used individually.
• For tiles thicker than 15 mm, the higher stone shims should be used.

how many shims or bases from Peygran do I need to buy?

Very easy, just look at this table and you will know how many you need. It depends on the A and B dimensions of the ceramic tile you are going to install. For example, if the tile measures 100 x 40 cm on each side, you will need 17 shims per square meter. Keep in mind that the bases are not reusable and the shims are reusable.

Tips with the shims Peygran

In case you leave the installation half done at the end of the day and continue the next day:

Be sure to remove the fastening material or mortar from the next fila of slabs. We will also use the base of a shim to leave a small hollow spot in the mortar of the last fila of tiles laid, allowing you to insert the base of the shims into it the next day. The next day, first be sure to fill the hollow spots from the previous day with a margin trowel and fill the back of the slab with the mortar material. Insert the shims and wedges and resume installation, following the same process.

Do not remove the shims manually before breaking the system:

To break properly, the shim must be in tension. If we remove the shims before, we will eliminate that tension, so they will not break correctly. If they do not break correctly because of the above, we can pull the wedge with a pair of pliers. It will always break through the patented pre-cuts that it has and therefore, below the slab.

Never install the leveling system in the corners of the slab.

It will be more difficult to make a precise installation, it could even break the ceramic when pressing it from the corner and lift it from the rest; besides it will be very difficult to keep the filling joint aligned.

HOW TO USE

Laying the support:

After spreading the tile adhesive, place the supports under the pieces on all 4 sides.
For large pieces use one or more supports per side.
Place the tile and tap with the rubber mallet.

Inserting the wedges:

Insert the wedges into the housing, pressing without exceeding the breaking point.
To facilitate this task, the use of the adjustable pulling clamp is recommended.

Removal of the support:

Once the adhesive cement has set, to remove the support, simply tap with the rubber mallet or with the toe of the foot in the direction of the joint.
