Water-stop is a waterproof membrane composed of thermoplastic polyolefins (TPO). It is elastic in order to avoid cracks and has a fibrous veil on both sides to facilitate a better grip with cementitious adhesive in its installation. Water-stop is useful for waterproofing before laying ceramic tiles and flooring where there is a risk of dampness, whether indoors or outdoors.

Water-stop is useful for waterproofing before laying ceramic tiles and flooring where there is a risk of dampness, whether indoors or outdoors.

Unlike other methods, Water-stop does not require special conditions for installation such as the need for overlapping layers or the use of special tools.

It is easily cut with a blade, and applied with the help of a notched trowel. Avoids toxicity risks by not working with fire or solvents. It also has no limitations due to ambient temperature, nor waiting downtime.

It is up to 10 times lighter and up to 10 times thinner than most waterproofing membranes, which makes it very comfortable to handle and allows impeccable finishes.

• Economic. It does not require waiting time for the installation of the cladding or flooring which, together with its easy application, reduces installation times and costs.
• Recyclable. All components are easily recyclable and clean for the environment as they do not require the use of water for recycling.

APPLICATIONS

Waterproofing under cladding, flooring or ceramic tiling indoors or outdoors: showers, saunas, bathrooms, balconies, terraces, galleries, courtyards and humid environments in general.

INSTALLATION

On the surface to be installed, once stable, dry and clean, and with an adequate slope if water must be evacuated, apply the adhesive cement* in a thin layer with a notched trowel.

Place the previously cut sheet to the appropriate size on the adhesive mortar layer, pressing all over its surface to achieve total grip.

It can be bonded and sealed with flexible waterproof cement, MS type sealant putty (we recommend Sikaflex) or butyl tape.

Once the area to be waterproofed has been covered, proceed to the ceramic or pavement coating with the usual procedure. It is not necessary to wait time.

*For optimal adhesion results, use cementitious adhesives type C2 - TE (UNE EN 12004).
